Flash back Friday in Bantayan Island Cebu, Philippines

This trip and the photos that you will be seeing are taken way back in 2012, hence it is my flash back friday article.  Since then I have not visited Bantayan Island again. It was my second time on the island, and  it was still breath taking at least for me. The Island is 1 hour and 30 min away  from the main Island of Cebu. The  thing I do not like is that you need to take a 4-5 hours drive by bus from Cebu City to Hagnaya where you can take the ferry going to Bantayan Island.  At this time I was not a vegetarian yet so finding food was not really a challenge for me, so expect some photos of BBQ’s and hanging rice and we locals call it puso. So enough with this intro, and I present to you my flash back Friday photos in Bantayan Island Cebu.

This is the view from the ferry. I took this while we are moving away from the port of Hagnaya.

This is photo was taken also while I was in the ferry. This is common in the Philippines, which has something to do with fishing. BTW this island is famous for their dried fish that is oh so yummy!

So while on the ferry, obviously you can find a way not to get bored and that is by taking photos, just like what I did! Do not forget to bring some chips it is a good way to keep your mouth busy. When you are travelling with a special someone it is a perfect place to get cheesy and romantic. Act like as if your are Jack and Rose, just skip the sinking part of Titanic LOLS.  Well as for me I got a friend  and guess who is he?

Clue? He is French!

Do not worry you will see more beautiful photos of this handsome guy, and the crazy thing we did in the island. Do you want see what is our view upon waking up? Wait no more!

Voila! A breathtaking view in the morning from our room.

And another one! You see those sticks that are made of bamboo in the ocean. They are being uses by the fishermen.

And another one!

You think we were just watching these views the whole time? Of course not! We are hitting the road with motorbike! Yes, just one motorbike because I do not know how to drive.

While we are on a  motorbike we pass by some places like a small village that looks so peaceful and beautiful. Oh gosh, if there is a good internet connection here I do not mind living here at all.  Imagine getting free coconuts from your garden?  And I believe you can easily grow cops and create a sustainable place!

This is the village that I am talking about. How great is that?

You know our goal in doing motorbike is really to find a great virgin beach where there are no resorts around and only locals are living near by. You think we can find one? Surely! But we need to make some stop over first to get some snacks and refill the tank with gasoline. So off we go to find a place where we can buy something to eat, chill a bit, and of course buy a gasoline.

We found a sari sari store. For Filipinos like me it is the most convenient store I can get in my neighbourhood. So whenever you are on a trip anywhere in the Philippines. Sure you can find a sari sari store.

And we found the gasoline! Not it is not a soda but they recycle bottles of coca cola this way by refilling it with gasoline.

After chilling, we finally found found the gem! Virgin beach that only locals are using it. Perhaps a lot of tourist already discover the place but at leat there were no resorts nearby. I do know now if they have built something new in the place. I present to you this beautiful paradise!

Paradise.

We are so happy seeing this. Meet Cyril who is my boyfriend now.
